Vandaag is het alweer aan het regenen, maar gisteren hadden we echt een mooie, zonnige namiddag, waar ik van genoten heb. Het doet deugd om soms nog eens de warmte van de zon te voelen in de herfst. Mocht je niet weten wat te doen in het weekend, kun je alvast deze nieuwe blogs een bezoek brengen:
Fijn weekend!
Nu hebben deze keukenhaken van oud hout nog een donkerbruine kleur, maar ook hier ben ik aan het denken of ik ze niet beter toch wit maak. Ik zie trouwens ook wel al zo´n mooi vergrijsde tafel (teak) - zoals we nu buiten hebben - in onze toekomstige keuken staan, en dan allemaal verschillende stoelen er omheen: Tolix, rotan, hout... Ik heb nog geen idee wanneer de keuken-werken gaan beginnen, want eerst komen nu het dak en de zolder volledig aan de beurt, voor een betere isolatie van het huis.
Now these old-wooden kitchen-hooks still have a darkbrown colour, but I´m thinking to make them white maybe. I imagine also having a nice greyish table (teak) - as we do have outside - in our future kitchen, with all different chairs around: French Tolix, rotan, wood... I don´t have any idea when those kitchen-works will start, because first the roof and ceiling will entirely be done now, for a be better insulation of the house.
Maintenant ces crochets de cuisine ont encore une couleur brun foncé, mais je réfléchis si je ne les peindrai pas en blanc. J´imagine d´ailleurs d´avoir une table (teck) joliment grisonnée - comme celle de dehors - dans notre future cuisine, avec différentes chaises autour: Tolix, rotan, en bois... Je n´ai aucune idée quand les grands travaux de cuisine vont commencer, puisque d´abord le toit et le grenier vont entièrement être refaits, pour une meilleure isolation de la maison.
Ook bij ons zijn we beetje bij beetje alweer bezig met de voorbereidingen op de komende winterfeesten: Sinterklaas, Advent, Kerst, maar alles op z´n tijd natuurlijk. Voorlopig komen hier nog geen kerstballen of andere versieringen uit de doos en we laten eerst de herfst nog een beetje herfst zijn. Maar ik ben wel bezig met het maken van een advents-kalender voor onze kinderen. Elk jaar ben ik in de supermarkt kalenders met chocolaatjes erin gaan kopen en zo konden de kinderen elke dag - tot 24 december - een deurtje van de kalender opendoen. Nu maak ik er zelf eentje op een eenvoudige, maar heel leuke manier en als hij af is, zal ik hem wel eens tonen. De kleine spiegel heb ik vorige week uit de kringloopwinkel meegebracht, als troost voor een groter barok exemplaar dat onlangs van de muur en aan diggelen gevallen is. De kaarsenhangertjes had ik hier al gezien een tijdje geleden en ik vind ze zo sierlijk dat ik ze ook maar heb besteld bij Tuttemerull. En ja, wat valt er nog aan toe te voegen aan die zinken punt-hangers van Zink & Zo ? Ze zijn gewoon mooi!
Also in our home we´re beginning little by little with some preparations for the coming winterfeasts: Advent and Christmas, but first things first of course. For the time being there won´t be any Christmasballs or other decorations here and Autumn can still a while be Autumn. But I´m preparing an Advent-calendar for our children. Every year I used to buy calendars with chocolates inside - I don´t know if you know them - in the store and the kids could open every day a little door of this calendar until December 24th. Now I´ll make one by myself in a simple, but nice way and when it´s ready I´ll show you. I bought this little mirror in our thriftshop last week, as a consolation for a bigger baroque one which fell off the wall and in 1000 pieces recently.
Dans notre maison également nous commencons petit à petit avec les préparations pour les grandes fêtes d´hiver: la Saint Nicolas, l´Avent et Noël, mais il y a un moment pour chaque chose bien sur. Pour l´instant il n´y aura pas de boules de Noël, ni autres décorations et l´Automne peut continuer encore un peu à être l´Automne. Par contre je suis en traîn de préparer un calendrier de l´Avent pour nos enfants. J´avais l´habitude d´acheter chaque année au magasin des calendriers remplis de petits chocolats - je ne sais pas si vous les connaissez - et ainsi les enfants pouvaient ouvrir chaque jour une petite fenêtre jusqu´au 24 décembre. Cette année j´en fais donc un par moi-même, de façon simple mais joli. Dès qu´il sera prêt je vous le montrerai. J´ai trouvé le petit miroir dans notre ´kringloopwinkel´ (brocante), comme consolation pour un plus grand modèle baroque, qui est tombé du mur et en 1000 morceaux récemment.
Vandaag werd ik verrast door getalenteerde Isabelle van La Maison de Zabielle met een prachtig, delicaat en liefelijk pakket. Eigenlijk moet ik me bezig houden met andere dingen op het moment, maar de verpakkingen, de inhoud en de labels, de kleuren... alles is zo mooi dat ik het niet na kon laten om gelijk de camera erbij te pakken en om te proberen de schoonheid ervan in beeld te vangen. Isabelle, ik hoop dat ik hier op een ´waardige´ manier hommage breng aan je creativiteit! Heel hartelijk dank voor al dat moois, ik ben blij!
Today I´ve been surprised by talented Isabelle from La Maison de Zabielle with a gorgeous, delicate and lovely parcel. In fact I´ve to be hard at work with other things at the moment, but the packings, the content and the labels, the colours... everything is so beautiful that I had to take my camera and to try to catch the beauty of it in some pictures. Isabelle, I do hope that I bring here hommage in an ´appropiate´ way to your creativity! Many, many thanks, I´m happy!
Aujourd´hui la talentueuse Isabelle de La Maison de Zabielle m´a fait la surprise avec un magnifique, délicat et joli paquet. En principe je dois m´occuper d´autres choses en ce moment, mais les emballages, le contenu et les étiquettes, les couleurs... tout est tellement beau que je ne pouvais pas m´empêcher de prendre tout de suite mon appareil photo et d´essayer de capter cette beauté en quelques images. Isabelle, j´espère ici rendre hommage à ta créativité de façon ´digne´! Merci de tout coeur pour toutes ces jolies choses, je suis heureuse!

Today I heard a new word on the radio: ´wilf-ing´. Never heard it before and my first thought was that it probably would be one of those expressions wich have been invented by young people. But no, it seems to be in connection with internet and it stands for ´What was I Looking For...´, a kind of purposeless surfing on internet and later on you don´t know anymore what you were searching for. Well, I do know that phenomenon; recently I was looking for nothing in particular and I landed on a website of an army-dumpshop not far away. By curiosity I went there one week later and I found a Valhalla of old army-stuff; the stools up here are from that shop and it´s one of my future painting-projects, but first they´ve to be cleaned thoroughly. One soldier made no secret of his love for ´Marleen´ (maybe Lily Marlene) and wrote her lovely name on a stool; at least that´s what I imagine then. Or maybe it was just the secretary´s stool? Heaven knows. If there´s an army-shop like that in your region, you should go and visit it; you might be astonished about all things you can find there!
Nog 278 facturen... nog 277... nog ´maar´ 276... dat boekhouden is echt dodend en ik ben moe in mijn hoofd. Maar we komen er wel, we komen er wel, houd ik mezelf dan maar voor. Voor iets anders dan onze facturen inboeken heb ik momenteel niet veel of geen tijd, want alle dossiers moeten klaar zijn tegen midden oktober. Verwacht dus niet teveel van me en al zeker geen interieurplaatjes. Het huis ligt er al sinds meer dan een week stoffig en rommelig bij en wat het opknappen van het interieur betreft, gaat het niet vooruit. Sorry folks, no inspiration deze keer. Ik denk dat ik een Nespresso nodig heb, what else?!
Due to a computercrash we lost a part of our documents some time ago and then principally in our accountancy-files. A little catastrophe for me, who doesn´t absolutely like numbers, figures and calculations. Numbers didn´t really bring me luck very much until now and when I look at it from close by, I´ve to conclude that I associate figures with something ´negative´ most of the time: either something is too expensive and therefor inaccessible; or we won´t be younger by growing older; or I´m blocked in our accountancy - as it´s the case now. I do prefer words, letters, texts and languages... they enrich me, they are useful and they bring me forward. There are some new adventurers in Blogland; down here you can find their links!
